VABIOTECH plans to launch phase 1 clinical trial of Covid 19 vaccine

According to information from the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) given at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, the Sputnik V vaccine (Russia’s COVID-19 vaccine) has production plants in 14 countries around the world. . The meeting of the International Advisory Committee, RDIF above had the presence of Russian President Putin.

Within the framework of the St. Petersburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin and investment representatives participated in the meeting of the International Advisory Committee, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

More than 30 investors from 17 countries with $15 trillion in assets under management attended the meeting of the International Advisory Committee, RDIF.

Participants discussed key issues in international partnerships needed to ensure an investment breakthrough for the Russian economy and implementation of high-tech projects in priority areas (healthcare, infrastructure, industrial production, etc.). Prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic also became the focus of the above meeting.

At the St. Petersburg also held an online launching ceremony for the opening of Sputnik V vaccine factories in Argentina and Serbia.

The online ceremony was attended by three heads of state, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Argentine President Alberto Fernandez and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

The Sputnik V vaccine will be produced in Argentina and Serbia to meet the domestic needs of these two countries, and will also be exported at a later stage.

RDIF has established a large international network of partners to produce the Sputnik V vaccine. For the first time, the meeting of the International Advisory Committee, RDIF had the presence of 25 pharmaceutical companies from 14 countries where the Sputnik V vaccine is being produced or is entering production. These partner countries include: India, China, South Korea, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Along with Brazil as the latest country to authorize its use, the Sputnik V vaccine is registered for use in 67 countries. The total population of these 67 countries is 3.4 billion people. Among COVID-19 vaccines, the Sputnik V vaccine ranks second in the world in terms of the number of countries certified for use.

Agreements signed between Russia’s RDIF Fund and partners will ensure the production of enough Sputnik V vaccine to vaccinate more than 800 million people around the world each year.

According to information released by RDIF, the Sputnik V vaccine has a storage temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius and costs less than 10 USD/dose.

Recently, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long had an online meeting with the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDFI) on June 2. Vietnam has negotiated to buy 20 million doses of Sputnik V vaccine to prevent COVID-19 in 2021. This vaccine has been licensed by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam since March 2021.

At the above online meeting, the Russian side supported Vietnam’s proposal to supply and transfer COVID-19 vaccine production technology.
